This municipality has the luck of having in its territory the legendary forest of El Cedro, a Tertiary refuge where laurel has survived as a memory of a time in which man had not yet made his presence in the world. The lush vegetation of its mountains does not clash with the greenery of its valley, one of the most fertile on the island of La Gomera, dotted with terraces and banana trees that make up a space that, seen from any of its many viewpoints, attract the gaze of the visitor.
In addition Hermigua has the best climate in the world, nestled in a ravine that is lost in the eye, dies on the beach of Santa Catalina, a privileged space where the green extensions of the banana plantations play with the blue of the sea, ending in the davit from Hermigua, one of the most picturesque heritage sites on the island.
